Happy 4th of July + Quick Update

Happy 4th of July everyone! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day whether or not you live in the USA! Sorry, we’ve been AWOL for the past couple of days, we’ve been busy and plus I got sick. But I’m all better now and I’ve come to inform you that we’ll be updating this blog more regularly from now on wards. I thought I would kick it off with some fun last minute ideas and activities you can do during this 4th of July!

  1. Paint your nails with patriotic colors! Red, white, and blue all around! You don’t have to stop right there, you can even dress up in red, white, and blue and show your patriotism.
  2. Β  Β  Β  If you’re going to a 4th of July BBQ or a potluck and need something to bring last minute, then make these kabobs! All you need are strawberries, bananas, and blueberries and some kabob sticks. These kabobs are both festive and healthy for everyone to enjoy.
  3. Β For those of who aren’t that patriotic and would rather be doing something else, then I encourage you to shop the 4th of July sales. Almost every store is having a massive sale on their clothing and products today and since most people are busy, the malls won’t be that crowded. But for those of you who don’t want to leave your house at all, then shop online! A lot of online retailers are offering discounts and free shipping for the day, so grab this offer before it’s gone!

Well I hope those last minute 4th of July ideas helped inspire some of you! Whatever you plan on doing, I hope all of you take a moment and step outside tonight to watch the fireworks. You don’t get to see fireworks everyday, so take this opportunity and enjoy magical light show in the sky. Happy Independence day and I’ll see you next week! πŸ™‚

She loved them first! (Which she might be embarrassed about but she shouldn’t be!)

Hey guys!

So this weekend, Swathi and a couple other friends and I went to a concert.

A One Direction concert that is πŸ™‚

(If you are currently judging us for liking One Direction, please click the following link:Β http://shadesofbrwn.wordpress.com/2012/11/12/justin-bieber-ft-one-direction/Β )

About a year and a half ago, Swathi and I were having a sleepover, and she kept talking in a British accent. And finally I was like “GIRL WHY YOU TALKING IN THAT ACCENT ALL THE TIME?!” And she was like, “Let me show you.”

And she spent all morning introducing me to One Direction, and I came to love ’em.

The concert this weekend was awesome. One of my favorite moments was during the song “Loved You First.”

We were all dancing around and stuff, and when they said the line “Baby I loved you first!” I happened to glance at Swathi. She sang the line with them, and pointed in their direction. I know it was just a move and all, but I had like a profound moment lol. Because, the thing is, Swathi DID love them first. A lot of people found out about One Direction only after they came to the U.S for the first time, which is totally fine; there’s nothing wrong with that. But Swathi knew about One Direction for so long, maybe even longer than anyone in our whole school. I knew that this concert was so big for her. And without her, none of our group, including me, would have been as pumped to be there.

So I guess I just want to say thanks. I’m so glad you introduced me to the boys, Swathi. And I can’t wait to do this next year πŸ™‚ Also, to all y’all out there with friends who try to get you into stuff, give them a chance! You might end up loving what they show you.

-Manners πŸ™‚

Welcome!

Hey there! I’m Manni, but you can call me Manners πŸ™‚

Welcome to our blog! Here you’ll find…well…I’m not exactly sure at the moment what you’re going to find on here, so I guess we’ll all find out in due time? K cool πŸ™‚

Take it Swathers!

Hi, how’s everyone doing? Well, I hope!

My name is Swathi, or otherwise known as Swathers (which is short for Swatherus Snape, a nickname that one of my friend’s brother-in-law gave me) the other half of this rhyming duo. I call Manni Manners a lot so feel free to call her that too. For me well you can call me Swathi or Swatherus Snape or Swatz or Swahili or if you must, you can call me Swathers.

I’ll give you a little more insight on what our blog is about since Manni kept it pretty short (don’t expect that from her, she’s usually a talker). Well this is our blog that we decided to start together to detail the our, well, somewhat boring lives. We don’t know necessarily where it’s headed yet or if it’s headed in any direction at all, but we do know is that it will show our unbreakable ( for the most part) friendship.

Well I hope you’ll enjoy your experience here. Maybe one day we can have tea and cookies together? πŸ™‚
